I just had to share because I am very excited. I just got off the phone with a parent from a daycare/school in which I am having a RFTS program going on. She called me to see who the check would be made out to. We got talking and her son read over 550 minutes and it dramatically decreased his tv time.  They collected $500  in pledges.

 

  She passed around the pledge sheet at work and put his picture on the pledge sheet made copies too and put her son's picture and it said "help me earn new books for me and my school". She said this was her first fundraiser and the people were so excited to contribute she had no idea. She went on the website before the program and picked out 5 books and knew they needed to raise about $150 but then she said she had no idea that this would turn out to be so successful. 

 

She is having bookmarks made with her son's picture to pass around to the people that pledged money and it will say thank  you everyone for helping me earn books.  She said most people know her son from when he was with the onsite daycare.

 

I am just so excited from this phone call and had to share what  a great program this is and really does make a difference for those of all ages even in Daycare programs where the parents appreciate the quality time of reading to their child. The mom said "I am just so excited over this program because my son could not stop bringing books over for her to read"
